DCM Shriram's ₹105 Crore Bet on Green Energy

DCM Shriram Ltd has signed a definitive agreement with Serentica Renewables India 38 Pvt Ltd to develop a 58 MW (peak) hybrid renewable energy project for its Bharuch chemical manufacturing facility in Gujarat, further strengthening its transition towards clean energy.

The project is scheduled for commissioning by June 2027 and will supply renewable power to the company's energy-intensive chemical operations at Bharuch. With the addition of this capacity, DCM Shriram's total renewable energy portfolio across its Bharuch and Kota manufacturing facilities will increase to 176 MW (peak), significantly raising the share of green power in its overall energy mix.

Under the agreement, DCM Shriram will invest up to ₹105 crore, in one or more tranches, to acquire a minimum 26 per cent equity stake in Serentica Renewables India 38 Pvt Ltd. The investment is aimed at securing long-term renewable power, improving energy security, lowering electricity costs and reducing carbon emissions across its manufacturing operations, in line with the company's sustainability and decarbonisation objectives.
